The Horizon Series

Our Western theatre culture has been around for thousands of years. Other storytelling cultures predate the Greeks by decamillennium.  Theatre continues to evolve with the artists creating it and the communities it serves. The Horizon Series supports programming, services, workshops and initiatives that explore and investigate where we are and where we’re heading, as a community and as theatre makers; who is doing the making, how are they uniquely supported (one size fits one), how we develop our work, and what theatrical form that work might inhabit. We don’t know what we don’t know; The Horizon Series embraces that tenet and openly asks – What’s next?

Activities may be as varied as a workshop exploring Indigenous dramaturgies, a seminar on digital technology, or an invitation to a cutting-edge international artist to spend some time with us here in Manitoba.

This umbrella program is also devoted to honing our artistry and craft, offering workshops and seminars to refresh and deepen our storyteller's toolbox.

Horizon Series activites are open to all MAP members.
