In November of 2018, Prairie Theatre Exchange created the Emerging Playwrights Unit, in partnership with MAP, with the goal of helping to develop the participating playwrights’ voices and stories.  In 2023, the unit was renamed the PTE/MAP playwrights unit to honour the collaborative nature of the relationship between our two organizations and the support we are both offering the participating playwrights.  More information about the Unit and its members can be found on the PTE website.  

MAP hosts or supports other Playwrights' Units on an ad hoc basis, as desire and need arise, such as the Dotagers Playwriting Unit which received an Open Door scene study.
