The Manitoba Association of Playwrights is pleased to host a series of workshops with Geri\the/atrics Theatre Company, to create five short-shot (10 minute) plays for public performance in repertory.

Performing artists 55+ years of age, emerging as well as experienced, are invited to attend. The devised theatre workshops, lead by James Durham and Andrew Lizotte, will be held in the Rory Runnells Studio, 504 - 100 Arthur Street (Artspace) on Saturdays from 12:00noon to 4:00pm, October 4, 11, 18 & 25, November 1, 8, 15 & 22 and February 7, 14, 21 & 28. Fee per actor for the full 12 weeks is $40.00. Space is limited to 12 seniors. Actors with playwriting experience are encouraged to join us.

Geri\the/atrics was formed to promote social change and human understanding of the aging process; support the inclusion of senior theatre artists 55+ years of age; have fun in a safe and friendly atmosphere of artistic expression; and, perform as a repertory company - “a collaboration of senior artists creating and performing new works”.

This workshop is made possible by support from the Manitoba Arts Council and the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation. For more information, please contact Rick Caslake at mbplayoutreach@gmail.com or by phone at 204-781-5254.
