The short-listed nominees!

The Chris Johnson Award, established in 2014 and named for Dr. Chris Johnson, Professor of Theatre (ret.), University of Manitoba, honours the best new play either produced or published by a Manitoba Playwright.  The award follows a two year cycle.  The short-listed nominees for the 2017/2018 award are -

How the Heavens Go, by Joseph Aragon, produced by Prairie Theatre Exchange 

L'ennemi du Peuple, par Rhéal Cenerini, produced by Cercle Moliere and published by Les Editions du Ble

Nanabozho et le Tambour, par Rhéal Cenerini, produced by Cercle Moliere and published by Les Editions du Ble

The Flats, by Ginny Collins, produced by Cercle Moliere and Prairie Theatre Exchange 

Sarah Ballenden, by Maureen Hunter, produced by the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and published by Signature Editions 

Deserter, by Daniel Thau-Eleff, produced by Moving Target Theatre 

The winner will be announced at the Manitoba Book Awards ceremony, Friday, May 3rd, 7:00 pm, at the Winnipeg Art Gallery Richardson Auditorium.  Best of luck to all the short-listed nominees!
