Sidney & Margaret Jarvis Playwrights Resource Centre

The Sidney and Margaret Jarvis Playwrights Resource Centre (Jarvis Centre) is a library/archive/and theatre resource centre devoted to the Manitoba playwright community. It is located on the 6th floor of the Artspace Building (100 Arthur) in Room 602. The Centre's initial funding was generously supplied by Gary Jarvis in memory of his parents.

Rick Caslake is the MAP archivist/librarian. He is in the Centre on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Contact him with any questions or requests.

The Jarvis Centre houses:

  • - A physical archive of playscripts, drafts, and production scripts of plays by Manitoba playwrights (current MAP members, former members, and other playwrights who have had MAP workshops, readings, or dramaturgical support)
  • - A library of published plays by Manitoba and Canadian playwrights
  • - A library of playwriting and theatre resource books
  • - The personal archives of playwright Alf Silver
  • - The personal archives of Daphne Korol
  • - The archives of Theatre Projects Manitoba and the now defunct Agassiz Theatre
  • - The archives of Grant Guy's Shared Stage and Adhere + Deny Theatre Companies
