Synopsis: Bertha Rand, Winnipeg's infamous Cat Lady, was a familiar figure in the news during the 1960s and 1970s.  She took in sick and abandoned cats, battling her neighbours and city hall to save them.  This play delves into Bertha's past, a tragic life of poverty and deprivation, a life lived always on the margins.  It is the story of one woman's will to survive -- a univeral story of hope and strength.
